Cyanogen founder, Steve Kondik has confirmed their current plans to offer a final Lollipop / CyanogenMod 12, builds to OnePlus One user next month (February).Though, customers, who are buying the OnePlus One from India, will not receive updates from Cyanogen. OnePlus One users in India will receive an Android 5.0 Lollipop update developed by the Chinese manufacturer.
OnePlus began the New Year by offering an alpha build of the Android 5.0 Lollipop based custom ROM for download. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had informed earlier about OnePlus plan to release its custom ROM alpha build before releasing their stable Android 5.0 build in February.
Meanwhile, after selling about 1 million OnePlus One handsets, OnePlus is busy with the development on the OnePlus Two, which should be introduced in the second or third quarter of this year.
OnePlus is also seriously thinking about the possibility of making a smaller device. The message for people who have asked them for just such a thing is: “we hear you”. It’s unclear however if the OnePlus 2 may be smaller than its predecessor, or if the company will launch a different handset alongside it.
