OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed to Forbes that OnePlus One smartphone sales have eclipsed the 500,000 mark to date. OnePlus wants to sell one million units before the end of the year. Pei knows that nearly doubling sales in less than two months is “going to be hard,” but he thinks it’s possible. Looking at what OnePlus has done so far, it makes sense that Pei would remain optimistic.
Forbes claims that OnePlus has achieved half a million sales of its flagship One device, which has been available on an invite-only basis since April, with an advertising budget of just $300. That small figure was allocated towards OnePlus experimenting with Facebook advertising, but the company has grown organically through word of mouth.

OnePlus opened OnePlus One pre-orders on its new system for the first time on October 27, but it didn’t quite go as the company had planned. While OnePlus was able to sell “tens of thousands” of devices during the pre-order event, number of users experienced problems at the time of ordering the much-awaited device. Now OnePlus has decided to offer users another chance to pre-order the handset on November 17, at 3pm GMT.
For November 17, OnePlus will enable more servers to execute the process smoothly and will also get some time in hand to refill their inventory. The exact length of the November 17 pre-order window has not yet been confirmed by the OnePlus yet.
