Oppo R1 is another phone from Oppo that will come in to market as a camera centred Smartphone with leading camera technology. The company seems to be more inclined towards the camera and thus showcasing it in the teaser, while keeping all the other details secret for now. Recently, Oppo even teased the Oppo Find 7, which is to come with a 2K display.
The Oppo R1 will be expected to come with a 5 inch 1280 x 720p (HD/WXGA) display that consist 2 sheets of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front and rear for a scratch resistant finish. It has a 16 GB built in memory and an 8 mega pixel rear camera.
This 8 mega pixel Sony rear sensor with a sapphire glass lens of f2.0 aperture, that is larger than the normal 1.32 µm size. Oppo has also included its own image processing software that will make sure that R1 will take stunning low light photos even in the nights. The front facing camera flaunts with 5 mega pixels with wide angle lens.
The Oppo’s own ColorOS will be furnished to the device with features like gesture controls and optimized battery life. The phone is powered by a 1.3 Ghz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM which is quite low for a phone in the range of $411 (2498 Yuan). There was a teaser in Facebook, which on translation looks like something like this,
“Next-generation R1 OPPO smartphone for night shots. New revolutionary sensor for great night shooting, new PI engine to preserve the real colors of the pictures. Glass body, excellent craftsmanship, and beyond the best technology is coming in late December!”
The Oppo’s R1 body is completely made of glass which gave a sleek look making it eye soothing. This phone is expected to come in White and Black variants. Since already its mid December and close to the end, we might expect the release any movement. I am getting itchy to lay my hands on this device that gives me a perfect catalog to show my photography skills.
