Today, Panasonic India has launched a new mid-range smartphone in its Eluga series called as Pansonic Eluga Mark priced at Rs. 11,990. The main USP of the device is it comes with enhanced security features like fingerprint sensor with 8 different fingerprints support at a single time. It also comes equipped with Android-for-work support, which allows enhanced IT security and BYOD (bring your own device) compatibility for private smart devices to operate on secure corporate networks.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, “With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users. This control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalized for the user and protects the smartphone investment. We are approaching an end of the year which brings our portfolio for 2015 to a total of 16 new devices launch with a few more to come. In 2016, we would be focusing on “Make in India” and 4G enabled devices by targeting international markets and regions.
Coming to its specifications, the Eluga Mark flaunts a 5.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display with pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood, is the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card slot upto 32GB.
On the photographic section, the device features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing front camera for video calling and selfie lovers. Connectivity options on the dual sim capable device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-fi Direct, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port 2.0.
The handset comes backed by a 2500mAh battery that can easily last for an entire day on a single charge and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The Eluga Mark comes with the FitHome user interface exclusively designed by Panasonic, which is distinctive in nature and enables single thumb-flick access to applications on the home screen. The dimensions of the device measure 152 x 77 x 8.2 mm and is available in colors- Royal Gold and Metallic Grey.
