Procedure to Reset the Flash Counter in Samsung GALAXY Note I717:
- First up, you need to download the appropriate flash counter zip file from the below mentioned list. For example, if you are having a Galaxy Note powered with Rogers network then, you need to download the file named as “zip flash_counter_reset_rogers.zip” and like wise for other operators like at&t, Bell&telus.
zip flash_counter_reset_att.zip – (188.2 KB)
zip flash_counter_reset_rogers.zip – (185.6 KB)
- Now, connect your phone to the computer and place the downloaded zip file in your phone’s SD Card. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the sub folders.
- Disconnect the device from the computer and turn Off the phone so as to turn On the phone in the recovery mode. Galaxy Note can be entered into recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to turn ON your device.
- In recovery mode, you need to disable if there are any lag fixes installed by going in the advanced option. In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Zip Package which you have placed in your phone.
- It will take around 5 -6 minutes for applying this process and once it’s done, the Galaxy Note will show up the recovery mode screen. Now in the recovery mode, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system.
Tip: Just in a rare case if the flash counter doesn’t turn 0, then you can try re applying the above workaround once again which may fix the issue.
