Procedure to update LG Optimus One P500 with Gingerbread 2.3.3 V20B Firmware:
- So, first up you need to download the V20B Gingerbread 2.3.3 Package for LG Optimus One P500 along with the LG Electronics KDZ Software Update tool from here to your computer.
- Once you download these both files, you need to extract the LG Electronics KDZ Software Update Zip package from here and out of that unzipped file, click on the file called “msxml.msi” to open and this will install all the required tools.
- Up next, disable the LG Electronics Virtual modem which you can do from the path of “Control panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Right Click on the LG Electronics Virtual Modem” and select Disable as shown in the below screen capture.
- Now, you need to enter your phone in the Emergency Mode which you can do by pressing the Volume Up key + Pressing the Back Key and holding these both you need to turn ON the device with the help of Power button.
- Connect the phone in this state with the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase and then run the file which is named as “KDZ_FW_UPD.exe” and then select “3GQCT” and then after that “DIAG” in the “TYPE” section as shown in the below screen capture.
- Once you are done with the above step, you now need to select the “KDZ File” by clicking on the “Folder” shaped symbol and then choose the file which you downloaded in the first step which is named as “V20B_00.kdz”.
- Ensure that you don’t disturb the USB cable or else it won’t be able to apply the update and the phone may soft brick too. Please note that till you don’t see the home screen, its not recommended to remove the USB cable which is connected to the computer. Also, after reboot, you may be asked to enter in the Language preferences as well as the Google account settings which are optional though as you can always enter these at a later time.
- Once you finish the process, you need to now turn off the phone so that you enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode in the LG Optimus One P500 can be entered by “Volume Down + menu Key and then simultaneously press the Power button to turn ON the device in the Recovery mode”. Please note that if the device boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode. In the recovery mode, you need to select the Wipe Option to wipe all the data which is there in your phone.
Once the firmware application process is done, the device will be rebooted on its own and that’s it you have successfully applied the default and official firmware on your LG Optimus One P500.
