Procedure to Use Kindle Fire Utility to Root & install Custom Recovery Image:
- Download the Kindle Fire Utility Tool Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract the same so that you can then get the below shown files upon extraction. Even if single file is missing, then you need to download the same again.
- Up next, connect your Amazon Kindle Fire to the computer with the help of USB cable and click on “install_drivers” option which is an executable file present in the extracted folder. This step of installing the drivers is a must so as to get away from the error related to the fastboot mode.
- Even after installing the drivers, the device is not getting detected in the fastboot mode, then check with restarting the system.
- Click on “Run” to open the same and then you will get to view the below mentioned screen. Now, you can see that there will be 6 options in all as shown below,
- You can choose from any of these options mentioned. You can now select from the Normal, Fastboot, Recovery and you can check ADB / Fastboot mode. You can choose any option as per your requirement.
- Burrito Root will temporarily root the device and not permanent root. You just need to follow the on screen instructions to root the same as shown below.
- Up next you will then be given man options as shown below which includes options like replacing the framework, wallpapers shown in the lock screen, unlocking wallpaper, mount read only / read-write options as shown in the below screen capture.
- If at all you get any prompts asking for the permissions, you need to accept the same.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to turn Off the Kindle Fire, restart and follow all the above mentioned instructions again.
