So, let’s check out on how you can root the same irrespective of the current firmware you are on. We received many responses regarding on how to root Galaxy S3 devices which are locked on to the AT&T Network and here we are with the workaround. We are thankful to AdamOutler who is the recognized XDA Developer and has come out with this work around. So, let’s check out on how you can root your device with a simple tutorial mentioned below.

Rooting will void the warranty but not to worry as we will also help you on how to unroot the same and claim the warranty. The simplest thing to get back the lost warranty is to re-apply the original firmware update of your device. Once you have rooted, you can then install many custom ROM firmwares for your phone so that you can customize the device your way.

Procedure to Root AT&T Galaxy S3 Smartphone:

  • Though rooting won’t delete the data, but it’s highly recommended to create a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps manually. Don’t backup the data with the help of KIES or any such tools.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” enable the SUB Debugging Mode. Also, make sure that the minimum charge left in your phone is 40% or else there is a risk of device getting turned off in the middle of firmware update.

  • Download Rooting Tool for AT&T Galaxy S3 from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and click on “Do It”.
