Procedure to Update Galaxy S4 with Official jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware:
- Download the XXUBMGA Jellybean 4.2.2 Rooting Package and Odin from here to your computer and extract both the files to your desktop.
- Turn Off your device so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. Download Mode in GALAXY S4 can be entered by first turning Off the device and then hold Volume Down Rocker Key + Menu Button and then Power ON the device. Once the device is booted and you see the Download Mode Green Robot, you can release the button combos.
- Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow / Green, indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
- Click on “PDA” tab in odin to select the rooting tar file. Once the file is selected, you will then have to click on “Start” for starting the process of rooting.
- Once the device is rooted successfully, disconnect the device from computer and download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. Once downloaded, check on whether the device is rooted or not. Just in case if the device is not rooted, you will have to re follow the above instructions for rooting the same.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
- While Galaxy S4 Google Edition did receive the latest Jellybean 4.3 android version, the normal version Galaxy S4 too will receive it very soon. We will be very soon coming out with the custom ROM firmware for Galaxy S4 based on the Jellybean 4.3 firmware.
