How to Root Gionee ELife E3 Android Phone – Guide

Gionee ELife E3 Android smartphone which may not be one of the best smartphones but it can now be rooted so that you can then install the custom ROM firmwares along with the apps which needs the root access. Once the device is rooted, we will very soon be coming out with the custom ROM firmwares which will truly revolutionize the device to the next level and can accommodate the KitKat 4.4.2 Android OS. So let’s check out on how you can root the device with some simple instructions.

Essential Pre Requisites:

Make sure that ADB is downloaded and setup in your computer.

  • Data in your One Plus One should be backed up manually with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t use PC Suites to back up the data as it may not help you restore the data till this update hits for your country.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – 
Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – 
Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Also, the minimum battery life should be a minimum of 70% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of firmware update.

Make sure to disable all the antivirus tools in your computer as it may hamper the process of firmware installation.

Procedure to Root and Install Custom Recovery image in OnePlus One Android Phone:

  • Download the Rooting zip file from here to your computer. Unzip the same and open the run.bat file in your computer.
  • After this, all you need to do is to just follow the on screen instructions for rooting the device.
  • To check on whether the device is rooted or not, download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store.

Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the power button & reboot the device to re follow the instructions.
