Procedure to Root HTC Sensation on ICS Firmware:
- Download HTC All in One Rooting Tool Kit, CWM Recovery & Super User Zip Package from here to your computer.
- Once all the above files are downloaded successfully, you now need to extract the HTC All in one Tool kit in your computer and then connect your phone to the computer.
- Ensure that you are connecting the device in the charging mode and also enable the USB Debugging Mode in your phone.
- Now, run the One X.exe application from the extracted files. Don’t worry, though its named as “One X” it can be applied for HTC Sensation too. You need to unlock the bootlaoder of your HTC Sensation from htcdev.com website by following the on screen instructions.
- Now, rename the CWM recovery to CWM5827 and then copy this to the HTC One X toolkit folder/Data folder/recoveries and replace the one inside. Now, flash the CWM recovery using the toolkit and there you go, you have now successfully installed the CWM in your device.
- With the help of commands, you can now choose to boot the device into the recovery and flash the CWM flash as well as the Super User Zip file. You can also apply these zip files by entering the device in the recovery mode manually by turning Off the device first and then press the Volume down key + power ON the device.
Note: Just in case if you face any issues in the process of rooting or if the process gets interrupted, you will then have to re-apply the whole process of firmware update. Also, don’t forget to restore back the data which you have backed up so that you can easily use all the services like before your phone was in.
