Pre Requisistes:
- Before proceeding, you need to back up all the data which is there stored in your phone memory as just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored easily. For your simplicity we have mentioned all the tips to backup and restore data. Please don’t backup or restore the data using the HTC Sync or any PC Suites.
Notes – Backup in the mail so that you can then restore manually
SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Videos, Images, Videos & Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”.
- After this ensure that the phone is charged with the minimum of 70% so as to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned off in the process of firmware update. Also disable all the firewall tools as well as the antivirus suites so that these tools doesn’t interrupt the process of rooting and last but not the least enable the usb debugging from the path Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging as shown in the below image.
