Karbonn A2+ Android smartphone can now be rooted and in the coming days to come we will also be helping you to install the custom ROM firmwares. So for all those users who wanted to make the most of the device can now root the device so that in coming days, we will also be checking out on how you can install the apps which need root access along with the custom ROM firmwares. So after checking out the list of quick pre requisites mentioned below, we will slip on to the list of instructions which will allow you to update the device.
Note: Please note that this rooting process needs to be only applied to the Karbonn A2+ Android phone and not to other android devices.
Quick Pre Requisites:
- Don’t use any PC tools for backing all the data present in your Karbonn A2+ Android smartphone. Make sure that you are backing the data in your phone with the help of below mentioned manual steps.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Minimum battery life should be a minimum of 40% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of firmware update. Head over to the path “Settings > Security > Device Administration > Unknown Sources” to enable the same.

Procedure to Root Karbonn A2+ Android Phone:
- Download the Rooting Package for Karbonn A2+ Android Phone from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Karbonn A2+ with the computer using the original USB cable.
- Place the downloaded rooting package from here to your Karbonn A2+ and disconnect the same. We are assuming that you have installed some android file manager or you may use Astro File manager.
- Open the Astro File manager in your device which is a pre-installed app to locate the framaroot.apk file which you have placed in the device.
- Once you tap on the framaroot.apk, you will see two root exploits to choose from – “Aragorn” and “Gandalf” – tap on “Gandalf”.
- Once done, you will then have to reboot your Nokia XL Android phone to have the device rooted. We will very soon come up with the custom ROM firmwares for the Karbonn A2+ Android smartphone which are based on the Kitkat 4.4 firmware.
