- Data in your Nexus 7 2013 Android tablet needs to be backed up with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t backup the data with the help of KIES as it may not help you restore the data.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Also, the minimum battery life should be a minimum of 50% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of rooting process.

Procedure to Root & Install Nexus 7 2013 version on Kitkat 4.4.3 KTU84L:
- Download the Android SDK tool from here to your computer and install the same in your computer. Up next you need to download the Fastboot and extract the same to the android-sdk-windows platform-tools directory.
- Download the SuperSU package and place the same in your android tablet.
- Download Latest version of CWM or TWRP recovery image from the below mentioned links and place the same in the android-sdk-windows platform-tools directory;
CWM recovery: recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-flo.img
TWRP recovery: openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-flo.img
- Turn off your Nexus 7 android device so that it can be entered in the fastboot mode. Press Volume Down and Power buttons together for 4 – 6 seconds until the Bootloader Mode screen appears.
- Up next you need to head over to android-sdk-windows platform-tools directory and open Command Prompt [Win + R, enter “cmd” to press enter to open Command Prompt].
- Enter the below mentioned command in the command prompt;
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-flo.img
You now need to select the RECOVERY option from the Fastboot menu and enter the device in the recovery mode.
Head over to the “flash zip from sdcard” and select it using Power button. Select the option of “Choose zip from sdcard” and with the help of voluke rocker keys, select the SuperSU package which you have earlier placed in your device.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the power button and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
