How to Root Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 on Gingerbread XFJVA 2.3.5 Firmware

Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 on XFJVA Gingerbread 2.3.5 Firmware:

  • First up you need to download the ROOTING PACKAGE of which the link is mentioned in the last page in Pre Requisistes section. Now, after this you now need to extract the same. In the process of the extraction, you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas and extract the file to the desktop so that you can easily find the same.

  • Up next, compare the extracted files from the below mentioned screenshot. Even if single file is missing then you need to again download and extract the files.

  • From the extracted files, open the Odin executable application in your computer as shown in the below screen capture.

  • Now, turn ON the USB Debugging mode. Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging” as shown in the below screen capture.

  • Now, you will have to turn off the phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing  down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone encounters with the normal booting then you need to try multiple times to get into download mode. Refer the below mentioned video to know more on how to enter into the download mode.

  • Once the download mode is entered, with the help of USB cable connect the phone to the computer after which the ID : COM section in the Odin will turn yellow as shown below which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed and you are now ready to proceed to the next step.

  • After this you need to proceed to click on the corresponding tab and select the file from the extracted files.

  • Once the file selection is done, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update and then after that wait till the process is done. The process of rooting will take < 1 minute. Once its done, the phone will be restarted automatically after which you need to enter the Google Account credentials as well as the Language settings if prompted to see the home screen in your phone.

  • After this turn Off the phone to enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Refer below video to know more on how to enter into the recovery mode.

  • In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
