Procedure to root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100:
- First of all you will have to download the Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKG1 Rooting Package which contains the Odin as well as the CF Rooting file which we will see on how you can use the same in the due course of the article.
- Once you download the package, you will have to unzip the same, while the Windows users can unzip using the Win ZIP or Win RAR but if you are on MAC operating system then you will have to use Winzip for MAC to unzip the same. Please note that its recommended to unzip the file to the desktop as you can find the files easily.
- After you extract the files, in this process you will be prompted to enter the password, then all you need to enter the password as androidadvices.com. Please note that any other password apart from the one which is mentioned won’t be able to unzip the files.
- After extracting the files, you will see that there are two files which are present, which are the tar file and also the Odin 3 v1.7. Now just open the Odin exe file after which you just need to turn your Galaxy S 2 GT I9100 Off so that you can enter tour phone in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button), while holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device after which you will see the below screen as shown above. Also, for your convenience, we have also shown a small video on how you can put your phone in the download mode which you can refer the same below.
- Now, after this as soon as you connect the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 to the computer with the help of USB cable after entering into the download mode. Please note that after you connect the phone with the computer, the ID:COM box as shown below will turn yellow and in the message box you will see that it will show ADDED as shown in the below screen shot which means that all the required drivers have been loaded successfully and you are ready to proceed for rooting the device.
- Now, next up you will have to click on the PDA tab and then you will have to select the file named as “” which will be there in the unzipped contents which you have extracted in the above steps. Please note that you will have to double check the same that you have not selected any other file apart from the PDA tar file as if you choose any other file then there is a high possibility that you may end up bricking up the device.
Please note that with the help of the recovery tool you can easily flash the kernels, flash the update.zip files, delete the backups, back up the ROMs, restore the backed ROMs etc. To enter into the recovery mode, first switch off the phone and then hold the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button), while holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device.
