How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on XWKL1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware

Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on XWKL1 Firmware:

  • Download XWKL1 CF Root Package for Galaxy S2 in your computer. Once its downloaded, you need to extract the same and in the process you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.

  • From the extracted files, you need to open the odin executable file and then you need to turn Off your phone to enter the phone in the Download Mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing  down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.

  • Once the download mode is entered, connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.

XWKL1 Rooting Contents

  • Now, you need to click on “PDA” to select the file named as “CF-Root-SGS2_XW_INU_KL1-v5.0-CWM5”. Please note that once you select the file, double check the same and click on “Start” to start the process of rooting. After this, within a minute the phone will be rooted and you will then be restarted automatically.

  • Once you see the home screen in your phone, disconnect the phone and turn Off the phone so as to enter the phone in the recovery mode.

  • The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Refer below video to know more on how to enter into the recovery mode. Refer below video for more.

  • In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. If the device boots normally then again you need to try the same to enter into the recovery mode.

So, that’s it you will now see that the CWM app as well as the Super user app in your list of applications. So, in this way you have successfully rooted your phone.
