Procedure to Root SONY Xperia RAY on ICS 4.0.4 Firmware:
- Download Flashtool & Kernel from here to your computer. Once downloaded, Go to C:/ Drive > flashtool > firmwares > delete everything present and Put the kernel which you have downloaded in your computer.
- Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable with all apps closed and also if possible you can clear the RAM from the Manage Applications.
- Now, Run the Flash tool and then click on the flashing icon (left side below “file” option) to Select flash mode > ok. After this, setup should be like the one which is shown below and then select OK. After this all you need to do is to just follow the on screen instructions.
- After flashing restart your device, it may not start completely, may remain at Sony logo or remain blank/black. This is not a concern if it takes longer time than normal to root the device.
- Once the device finishes the rooting process, it will reboot. You can check whether your device is rooted or not with an App called “Root Checker” which can be downloaded from the PLAY Store. If the device is not rooted, you need to follow the steps again.
Note: If your Xperia RAY is not rooted successfully, you then will have to hard press the Power button to turn Off the same and reapply the whole procedure to start from the scratch.
