Tutorial to Root & Un Root Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102:
Instructions to Root:
- Download the Super user application from the Google PLAY Store and update the same with the latest su binary.
- Up next you need to download the “update.zip” file from here in your computer and copy the same in your phone. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the sub folders.
- Disconnect the phone from the computer and turn Off the phone so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode.
- The recovery mode in your Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 can be entered by pressing and holding the Volume Up rocker key + Home Button and Press the Power button to boot he device in the recovery mode. If the device boots up in the normal mode then you need to again try entering the phone in the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, select “select update.zip from sd card” option and select the “update.zip” file by pressing the power button. Once the file is selected, it will take around 3 – 4 minutes for rooting the device.
- Once rooted, you will see the recovery mode screen. Select “reboot system” for rebooting the device.
Now, all you need to do is to enjoy the rooting access. To un root the device, you need to follow the below mentioned instructions.
Instructions to Un Root:
- Download the Unrooting Package from here to your computer and move the same to your phone’s SD Card. Disconnect the phone from the computer if connected and turn off the phone so as to enter in the recovery mode.
- The recovery mode in your Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 can be entered by pressing and holding the Volume Up rocker key + Home Button and Press the Power button to boot he device in the recovery mode. If the device boots up in the normal mode then you need to again try entering the phone in the recovery mode.
- Select “select update.zip from sd card” option and select the “update.zip” file by pressing the power button in the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select the unrooting file and press power button to confirm the same.
- As soon as the device is unrooted, the phone will land up in the recovery mode screen. In recovery mode, select “reboot system” for rebooting the device.
- So, there you go you have now successfully unrooted the device.
Tip: Due to some reasons if the rooting process gets failed or interrupted, you need to follow the instructions from the start.
