Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy i551 5510 with Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware version:
- Assuming that you have downloaded the 2.3.6 firmware Zip Package from the last page of Pre Requisites, you now need to unzip the same to the desktop. In the process of unzipping, you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas.
- Once, the file are extracted you will now have to match the files with the below screen capture. Even if single file is missing then you need to check with the extraction or download of files.
- From the extracted files, you need to open the Odin flash tool in your computer in your computer and then you need to turn off the phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. To enter into the download mode you need to press Q + Power button simultaneously.
- Once you enter into the download mode, you need to now connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable which you have got at the time of purchase and then in the Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully updated and you are now ready to proceed with the next step.
- Now, in the Odin you need to first click on the “OPS” and need to select the file which is named as “CALLISTO_v1.0.ops” and then click on “One Package” option. After this, click on the “One Package” which is there at the bottom of the Odin and then select the file which is “I5510XWKPB_I5510XXKPK_I5510DBTKP1_HOME.tar.md5”. All the files which you need to select can be selected from the extracted files.
- Once you are done with all the file selections, you now need to proceed to click on the “Start” button in Odin. You need to ensure that you don’t interrupt the process of the firmware update by pulling out the USB cable or else it also might brick the device.
- Once the firmware update is applied successfully, the device will be restarted automatically and remove the USB cable which is connected with the computer. After this, turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode in the Galaxy I551 5501 can be entered by pressing the “T” key and continuing to holding this, you need to press the Power button to turn ON the device.
- In the recovery mode select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
