Procedure to Update Galaxy 551 with Gingerbread 2.3.6 with XWKPG Firmware:
- So assuming that you have downloaded the Galaxy 551 Firmware package from the pre Requisistes section, you now need to proceed to extract the same. In the process of unzipping, you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas.
- After extracting, open the Odin Multi Downloader from the extracted files and turn Off your phone so as to enter the device in the Download Mode. To enter into the download mode you need to press Q + Power button simultaneously.
- After entering into the download mode, you need to now connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable which you have got at the time of purchase and then in the Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully updated.

- In the Odin, you need to follow the below mentioned Chronological order as it is so as to select the files.
Click on “OPS” to Select “CALLISTO_v1.0.ops”
Tick Mark “One Package”
Click on “One Package” tab to select “I5510XWKPG_I5510XWKP1_I5510XEOKP5_HOME.tar.md5”
- So, assuming that you have doubly checked all the files, it’s now time to click on “Start” to start the procedure of firmware update. You need to ensure that you don’t interrupt the process of the firmware update by pulling out the USB cable or else it also might brick the device.
- Now, once the firmware is updated successfully the device will be restarting. After this just in case if you are facing issues like force close errors then you need to turn Off the phone as you will then have to enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode in the Galaxy I551 5501 can be entered by pressing the “T” key and continuing to holding this, you need to press the Power button to turn ON the device.
- In the recovery mode select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
