Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 Android Point & Shoot Camera Announced – Specs, Details

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has announced the next Galaxy Camera, the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2, the successor to an already good award winning camera with the Android OS, and the upgrade has got a lot of changes, taking the point and shoot capturing to the next level. The Galaxy Camera 2 includes a 1.6 GHz Quad core processor and that along with the Android platform, shall provide an excellent built platform for capturing pictures with the 16M BSI CMOS Sensor. There’s a Built-in Pop-up Xenon Flash which would pop up when you press the flash button.

The 16MP sensor has the 21x Optical Zoom and there is an array of features which would enhance the quality of the photos, and make it easier the users to add effects before and after the capture. The addition of 2GB RAM in the camera would make it easier for the users to multitask and do the heavy editing is needed. Although the user available storage is 2.8GB out of the 8GB actual internal storage, the camera has an expandable storage possible to 64GB with the MicroSD card, and Samsung has tagged with Dropbox to provide 50GB of cloud storage for up to two years.

On the back side visible to the user, there is a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear Touch LCD which would be an excellent upgrade for viewing the photos and videos. Running the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, the Galaxy Camera 2 comes with the big number of smart capture modes –
Smart mode suggest, Beauty face, Best Photo, Selfie Alarm, Continuous shot, Best face, Color bracket, Kids shot, Landscape, Dawn, Snow, Macro, Food, Party/Indoor, Action freeze, Rich tone (HDR), Panorama, Waterfall, Animated photo, Drama, Eraser, Sound&Shot, Interval, Silhouette, Sunset, Night, Fireworks, Light trace.

The connectivity is what keeps the Galaxy Camera 2 with the Android OS ahead of many excellent point and shoot cameras, and what you get here is the WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC. The Tag & Go feature will make it easier for people to transfer the photos from the Galaxy Camera 2 to the other NFC-enabled devices. Photo Beam is another excellent one, where you would be able to automatically send the content to the connected devices, and there are other ones like Mobile Link, Remote Viewfinder etc.

The battery in the camera is a 2000 mAh one. There are a lot of features which we might be able to show you when we do a hands-on very soon. And, this is going to be showcased at the CES 2014 event.
