Samsung has always tried to make the best out of the gadget events, and thus the next best could be the MWC 2013 where the company is expected to launch a range of Android smartphones, all in the Galaxy lineup. A couple devices which are already rumored to be coming out at that time are the “lite” versions of the Samsung Galaxy Grand and the Galaxy Note 3. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite GT-I9060 is going to be a 5-inch smartphone with some specifications which lie in between the ones in the first gen Galaxy Grand and the Galaxy Grand 2.
The Galaxy Grand Lite is expected to be powered by a quad-core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz and there would be 1GB RAM along with it. The processor is similar to that seen in the Grand 2, while the RAM was the same in the first gen device. It could be either the Android 4.2 or 4.3 Jelly Bean version running in it, and the display is expected to have the same resolution as in the Grand, i.e. 480 x 800 pixels.
There are rumors that the smartphone would pack two cameras, a 5-megapixel rear camera with the Autofocus and LED flash, and a VGA camera above the display on the front side. The battery is said to be having a capacity of 2100 mAh and the possible connectivity options are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. Sammobile, the source for all this information, could not confirm whether there would be single-SIM and dual-SIM variants for this, but it is expected to be a Duos variant, given that the Galaxy Grand Duos had made good number of sales because of the Dual SIM compatibility.
The Galaxy Grand is rumored to coming in the Midnight Black, Lime Green, and Orange colors. A usual trend with Samsung is that they announce the smartphones just before MWC so that these are showcased during the event, and that can be the case with the Galaxy Grand Lite, and the Note 3 Lite too.
