Procedure to Update Cyanogen MOD 9 ICS Android 4.0in Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000:
- So, assuming that you have followed the list of pre requisites and are on the Rooted firmware of XXJVT. After this first you need to download the below mentioned files in your computer.
- So, after downloading all the above mentioned things in your computer, you now need to connect your phone with the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase in the mass storage mode.
- Disconnect the phone connected from the computer and then you need to enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP + Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer the below mentioned video for knowing more on how to enter the recovery mode.
- Now, in the recovery mode select the option of “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then you need to first select the file of ICS Build Package which you have placed in your phone followed by which you need to select the files of the Google Apps and Face Unlock zip file.
- Once all these three files are successfully installed, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will reboot the phone. Please note that the rebooting of the phone may take up to 15 minutes as it’s a whole new version of firmware.
- Now, once the phone successfully boots up, you again need to turn Off the phone so that you can enter into the recovery mode. In the recovery mode, you need to select the options like “Wipe data/factory reset”, “Wipe Cache partition” after which select the option of “reboot system now” as this will clear out all the data which is there in the cache.
So there you go, you have now successfully updated your phone to the latest version of ICS Android 4.0 version of firmware. Just in case if the phone refuses to boot up or get stuck on the S Logo then you need to remove the battery, re insert the same and re apply the whole process from the scratch.
