- So, as soon as the device gets in the download mode you will have to connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase. As soon as you plug the phone in the download mode, the ID : COM section in the Odin will turn yellow which will signify that all the drivers have been successfully updated and you are now ready for selecting the files which are there in the unzipped package. Just in case if you are unable to see the ID : COM box turn yellow then you will have to install the USB drivers which are provided in the zip file which you have downloaded and extracted in the first step.
- You now need to select the FILES by clicking on the Corresponding tabs in the Odin flash tool.

- Ensure that other settings too are matched as the one which is shown in the below screen capture. After selecting the files you will have to double check all the selection which you have made just to ensure that all the options are rightly selected. Wrong file selections will lead to bricking of the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000.
- Now, after selecting the files and checking, click on “Start” to start the process of the firmware update and then you need to wait for a time of around 10 minutes so that the firmware update is finished. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully you will see that the phone will be restarting on its own.
- You may be asked to enter the Google Account credentials along with the language selection settings, enter the same and then you will get to see the Home screen in your phone which will mean that the firmware has been successfully updated.
Note: After successfully updation of the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000, you need to again re configure the APN settings to access the data services or the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider to get more info on the APN Settings. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings so that you can then send the MMS Messages.
- As soon as the update is successfully applied, you need to again turn off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button
- Once you enter into the recovery mode, select the options like Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you don’t select any other options or else there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone. Please note that its utmost important to follow this step or else you will have to face force close errors.
