LG Optimus Vu – Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Despite the debut of Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 which is the latest processor available since November last year and both the devices are launched just after unveiling of Android 4.0, still none of them comes with Android 4.0 pre installed on it. Of course, the hardware of both the phone are compatible to run the Ice Cream Sandwich with ease and manufacturers of both phones have promised for the Android 4.0 update, we don’t see it coming up until April this year. Either you can’t blame Google or the manufacturer for this and you have to bear with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on LG Optimus Vu and Galaxy Note too.

LG Optimus Vu – 8 mega pixel rear, 1.3 mega pixel front
Coming to the camera specifications I would both that splendid camera specifications. LG Optimus Vu is specially designed to compete with Galaxy Note and it has same 8 mega pixel camera on the rear side as that of Galaxy Note used for taking stunning pictures and videos at 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps. Moreover, Galaxy Note comes with autofocus and LED flash to take better picture in low light conditions as well. The features added to Optimus Vu camera are not yet known perfectly, but its clear that it will also have auto focus and LED flash.
Galaxy Note comes with 2 mega pixel front facing camera which can be used for video chat and video calls on the 3G and 4G network, whereas LG Optimus Vu has provided front facing camera with 1.3 mega pixel clarity, which doesn’t make difference.
The Optimus Vu is 4G LTE capable smartphone along with various other features like HSDPA, Wi Fi, WAP, Bluetooth and GPRS for connectivity and internet access. Coming to Galaxy Note it comes with 3G HSDPA connectivity and LTE connectivity for the Galaxy Note variant launched in various parts of the world where LTE is available. Galaxy Note also features Wi Fi, Wi Fi Direct, Wi Fi hotspot, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and EDR.
Again, it’s hard to judge a winner in the segment of connectivity too.

LG Optimus Vu – 2080 mAh Lithium ion battery
It looks like Galaxy Note emerges as the winner in the battery comparison as it comes with 2500 mAh battery powered with Lithium ion material. LG Optimus Vu is with 2080 mAh battery.
Winner : Galaxy Note
Samsung smartphone comes with TouchWiz user interface developed by Samsung Electronics for their Android mobile phones. While LG maintain the stock Android user interface.
Conclusion and Verdict
As of now it’s not that easy to clearly announce a winner among the phone + tablet combo phones, since Optimus Vu’s most of the specifications are on paper, its yet to come out of the covers. But it’s clear that with the launch of Optimus Vu by LG it will intensify the battle in 5 inches phone market segment. Also previously spotted smartphone with 5 inches were Dell Streak 5 and Lenovo LePad S2005 is the another one, both sidelined with no major impact.
As of now users are enjoying Galaxy Note and competition to it will start from March as Optimus Vu will be launched in Korea.
