Samsung Rolls Out Official Android Marshmallow Update for Galaxy S5 in South Korea

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow released back in August last year and since then all the top brands are trying to bring the Android M update to their smartphones. Today, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshamallow update to its 2014 flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5. The device was launched with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and was later updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop in 2015. The unlocked Galaxy S5 smartphones carrying model number SM-G900L have started receiving the Android Marshmallow update in South Korea.

With the latest Android 6.0 Marshamallow update, the Galaxy S5 includes new app permissions that helps you set the permissions only for specified app, Google Now on Tap feature, new Chrome feature that enhances the web experience and support for new fingerprint APIs and Android Pay mobile payments. The Galaxy S5 will also feature Doze Mode for smart battery management that ultimately extends the battery life of the device. Apart from this, there are many other interesting features like Do Not Disturb mode, new RAM manager, app drawer, auto backup and restore for apps.

The users who haven’t received the update on your Galaxy S5, go to settings > About Phone > Software Update to check for the latest Marshmallow update. The Galaxy S5 users of other countries are also expected to receive the Android Marshmallow update in coming weeks.
