Samsung has just announced yet another budget range Android smartphone, as they make the Galaxy Star Pro official. Samsung had recently announced even the Samsung Galaxy Trend Duos which was another budget device, but the Galaxy Star was one quite famous device in the low range, thus an upgrade from there was quite expected, and finally this Dual-SIM device has been announced with the 4-inch capacitive touchscreen. Although Samsung hasn’t put up the information or sale of this device on their website or eStore, one can find the listing for purchasing this through Homeshop18.
The Galaxy Star Pro, GT-S7262, has got the WVGA display with the 480 × 800 pixels screen resolution, and the internal powering provided in it is a single core processor, with the Cortex A5 chipset clocking at 1 GHz speed, and the multitasking is supported by 512MB of RAM. Running the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS version, the Galaxy Star Pro has nothing else on the bright side except the pricing, as you get to see just a single rear camera with the 2-meagapixel lens and there’s no flash assistance provided to it.
The connectivity options included in the device are – 2G EDGE (there’s no 3G networking), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and the Bluetooth 3.0 technology. The battery included in the Star Pro has a capacity of 1500 mAh, and the device has a thickness of 10.6mm, while the weight is 121gm. The feature which was already present in the Galaxy Star and now is included even in the Star Pro, is the Smart Dual SIM which would enable the users to make calls through one SIM, while at the same time receive the call on the other SIM.
The phone would be available in both Black and White colors, and it is going to retail for the price of Rs. 6989 in the Indian market. As we see it for sale already on one of the online stores, it won’t be much time before Samsung starts selling it on their eStore.
