Update: July 23, 2015, 15:50 : As we earlier reported, Samsung is launching the next Tizen smartphone as Z3 instead of Z2, it comes with model number SM-Z300H. It will be unveiled at the Tizen Developer Summit held on July 30&31 in Bengaluru, India, and will start shipping later this year. According to the latest leak, the specifications of the device are much improved than what we seen in Z1.
The Samsung Z3 will feature a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and comes powered by Spreadtrum SC7730S quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1.5GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage with microSD card slot and a 2,600mAh battery.
On the camera front, the device offers 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It also supports dual SIM dual standby and runs on Tizen 3.0 OS.
Earlier: July 2, 2015, 12:14 : There are quite a few rumours about the launch of a new smartphone from Samsung running on Tizen OS. Now we have a fresh leak suggesting that the device is Samsung Z3 with the model number SM-Z300H. We don’t any information about the specifications and launch date of the device. Since Samsung what to focus on entry range and mid-range devices with its Tizen OS, we can expect this to a budget-friendly device.
The Z3 will be the successor of Z1, which comes with dual-core Spreadtrum chipset with 512MB of RAM and 3.2MP rear camera, which seems pretty much outdated now. The upcoming device is expected to run on Tizen 3.0 out-of-the-box.
Based on the rumours, the Z3 will sport a 5-inch display and to be powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chipset with 4G LTE support along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There will be a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera and 2,000mAh battery.
We will update the article once there is any further information about the device from Samsung or any confirmed source. The device might unveil at Samsung’s “Tizen Developer Summit 2015” which will be held later this month in India.
Earlier this month, we have a report saying Samsung might launch quite a few device this year running on Tizen. After seeing the sales of Z1 in India where they sold more than one million Tizen running smartphones, Samsung might what to bet big on the Tizen in the long term perspective. The Z1 is the best selling smartphone in Bangladesh from January to March as said in a report by the Counterpoint, a research firm. As the Tizen running devices are now only available in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka; the company might launch the Z3 in few other Asian countries along with other developing nations.
