Sony is rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z handsets after a long wait. This update will start its rollout in selected markets and it will be a part of the Sony User Experience upgrade, including Sony’s suite applications and Xperia Themes. Although it is not the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat but it will have all the KitKat goodies.
The Android 4.4 KitKat update will be bringing performance and the UI (User Interface) upgrades, giving faster and better performance with new line of interface. You can find a tweaked Status bar and quick settings options and you can get the notification that you really need so that you can keep all the annoying notification for free time.
The Sony Play Station 4 users can recognize the new user interface across the lock and home screen. Moreover the update brings tweaks to the messaging app, My Xperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV, Sony Select, Smart Social Camera and much more. You will have a converged and full Sony entertainment experience with Sony’s Media apps like the WALKMAN, Album and movies, where you get better download speeds and intuitive User interface.
From Sony Select get a downloadable UI packs for unique custom interface experience. The company has also mentioned that you have skin up to 280 assets across your Xperia smartphone with many styles and more will be followed. Sony mentioned that the roll out will vary according to the market and the carriers so you need to for some more time for your device to be updated.
The manufacturer says the Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z are due to be updated with Android 4.4 from mid Quarter 2 and the Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 have been also added to the list of KitKat updates. Did you get an update or still waiting?
