Sony has surprised the fans with a wonderful device, which actually is a mini version of their latest flagship Xperia Z1, as the Sony Xperia Z1 Company becomes official, with no less power and the compromise only with the size, making it the compact version. Having a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, the compact comes with a 720p display (1280 x 720 pixels resolution), giving it a pixel density of 341 PPI, which isn’t bad at all. The best part about the device is that, unlike from the other brands, Sony hasn’t really made any compromise with the specs and kept this as a powerful option for those needing a smaller screen.
Internally, the Xperia Z1 Compact has got the same 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset which the larger one has got, and there is 2GB RAM to support it. Thus, the name is aptly called as Compact where the size is made smaller but everything else is the same – even the camera, which is the 20.7-megapixel G Lens camera that was seen in the Xperia Z1, and you know how excellent was that.
The battery does get a change, because the smaller screen size cannot support the same 3000 mAh one, and thus we would be seeing a 2300mAh battery in the Xperia Z1 Compact, and that actually is the same capacity the Xperia Z with a 5-inch 1080p display had. The Compact is a complete waterproof device and there would an internal storage of 16GB with the expansion option with the MicroSD card slot in it.
As for the pricing and availability, there is no official data supplied by the company but it is for sure that it would be priced more than the Xperia Z, but would be quite less than that of the Xperia Z1. We would be getting to know about the availability details any time soon.
