The Sony Xperia Z1 was just launched, with a better processor and a very much better camera when compared with the actual flagship device of the company, the Sony Xperia Z which was a waterproof 5-inch HD smartphone launched recently. Nothing much is changed with the display, the waterproofing is the same, but the camera is a lot appealing with the Sony G Lens being included with the Sony Exmor RS. Let’s check the comparison below, taking all the aspects into consideration.
Sony Xperia Z1 vs Sony Xperia Z Comparison
The Sony Xperia Z1 comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with the Full HD Display, having a 1920×1080 pixels screen resolution, just like what you had seen in the Sony Xperia Z. The difference that you see is in the dimensions, where the Z1 has got a bit thicker which might be contributed by the camera lens, which has got a lot better.
Internal Specs, Powering
Processor wise, the Sony Xperia Z1 is clearly better, with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 quad-core processor that comes along with the Adreno 330 GPU, compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor with the Adreno 320 GPU. For the multitasking, there’s a 2GB of RAM provided in both.
Camera – 20.7MP vs 13.1MP, Sony G Lens Clearly Better
The Sony Xperia Z1 was mainly made to showcase the Sony G Lens with the F2.0 and wide angle 27mm, which is the 20.7-megapixel camera that comes with loads of new features to take advantage of it. It’s the CMOS image sensor with higher sensitivity, and is expected to provide a lot more with the 1080p video recording. The video is the same in the 13.1 megapixel camera of the Sony Xperia Z, but you won’t get to see the Burst Mode, Superior Auto, AR Effect, Picture Effect, Sweep Panorama which are all a part of the Xperia Z1 camera.
The OS that is going to be included for the Z1 when it’s out of the box, is the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but the Xperia Z would still come with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and will get the updates to 4.2 version, and both having a similar Sony Bravia Engine powered interface, it won’t matter much because these are new devices and they would be on top priority for sending the updates to Android 4.3 version.
Overall, the Xperia Z1 has got a lot of advanced features compared to the Xperia Z, but the pricing would be a factor to check out when the device would be officially available in the market.
