Speedometer is quite essential when you are driving and so vehicles whether two wheeler or four wheeler are provided with speedometer but what if your are biking, hiking and running and you want to measure your speed? There is quick solution to that and various health related applications like Run keeper and here comes another application SpeedView, though this is not an health related application but it can help you calculated your running speed.
SpeedView is an Android application which provides you with advanced speedometer and this make use of the phone’s inbuilt GPS system to show the maximum speed or the average speed. This also shows you the direction in which you are traveling and the total distance covered by you along with a nice helpful graph recorded as you walk through and continue the speedometer recording.
The Speedometer is GPS based and since GPS is more accurate to find your mobile location, the accuracy of the speedometer to calculated your speed in miles per hour is very much efficient and we have tested this out while walking and running.

As soon as you install this application on your mobile phone and run it for the first time, you will be asked to upgrade to Pro version. Skip that.
You would see the first startup instructions and when you read them and then tap on OK.
Now you will be on the Speedview home and this will search for the available GPS signal. Please make sure that you have turned the GPS ON on your mobile phone.
The home shows the speedometer with your speed, along with the direction is shown on the top and the graph is recorded at the bottom.
When tap on the Menu, you will find various options of Orientation, Dashboard, Clear data, Minimize, Share location and More.
When you want to stop the recording you need to tap on the graph and then tap on Stop Recording. This will stop your application for recording or running in the background. If your application is running in the background you can bring it on your screen by opening task manager.

To download it directly on to your mobile phone, you need to visit the Android Apps Labs page listing of SpeedView application from your phone’s browser and then click on Install to automatically proceed with the installation.

Verdict
SpeedView application limits it usage to limited feature but it does it so well with the free one. Paid application too is of its worth.
