With the Android on your smartphones you get the options on how to distribute the incoming data connection with other Wi-Fi enabled devices. From your mobile phone homescreen you need to click on Menu and then go to Settings.
Once that is done, you need to click on Wireless & Network. This is the place where you would be managing your Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi settings, Bluetooth, Bluetooth settings, tethering, Wi-Fi tethering and any thing available on your phone for wireless and network internet access. You will understand more once you get into your this option.
Now you need to ‘Tethering & Portable hotspot‘. That is the options where you have the settings to share your phone’s mobile data connection via USB or a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. Its called portable because it can be created anywhere, wherever you carry your mobile.
Below screenshot depicts the options which you get when you click on Tethering & Portable hotspot. Among the options click on ‘Portable Wi-Fi hotspot‘ to further continue on how to start tethering.
As soon as you click that the tethering on your phone would be enabled and your device would be ready to share your incoming internet whether its 3G data services or Wi-Fi signal for you, you have created your own network.
Further to edit settings you need to click on Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings where you have advanced configuration options for the Wi-Fi hotspot network that you have created.
When you click on that it would prompt you to name your network along with the security level. For secured network you need to select security as WPA2 PSK and provide the password for the same. Now if you do that the users who would be trying to connect your network would be forced to enter the password thus unauthorized users can’t gain access to it.
With that you have created a portable Wi-Fi hotspot using your Huawei Ideos X2 handset. But make sure that you turn off your network when not in use or else your phone would be quickly left out with no battery power.
