India’s $40 educational slate, the Aakash 2 is set to make its mark in the western world. The tablet was initially produced by British company DataWind, updated 3 commercial variants of this Tablet in its UK website. The three variants being,
- The UbiSlate 7Ci popularly called as Aakash 2 Tablet in India.
- UbiSlate 7C+ was known as Aakash 3 Tablet that came with a SIM calling option
- UbiSlate 7Cz is another version of this tablet labeled as 3G7.
The UbiSlate 7Cz made its path earlier this year, through Federal Communication Commission (FCC) has a big 7 inch screen and 1.2 Ghz dual core processor, which are same as its predecessors but has an increased 1 GB RAM and a 8 GB internal storage which can be expanded to 32 GB via microSD card. It also supports SIM functionality with support for voice calls and data besides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.
The 7Ci is priced at £30 is identified as the consumer version of the Aakash 2 by Datawind. But these are not very much built in to compete with other tablets in the market in terms of the hardware and software specifications. Datawind aims these Tablets especially for schools for building a budget product which will be helpful in the education of the students at low cost.
The websites of the company are still incomplete to place an order now, it might take some more days for it to be available for booking. Many people will be exited to know that the product is going to reach out to a wider market and hopeful of trying out the device very soon. All these devices will be running on Android and app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
