UMi, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is known for making smartphones with decent specifications at affordable prices. Recently, the company has launched a new smartphone called as UMi Iron Pro with ‘Three Layers Of Security’ priced aggresively at $179.99. Today, the brand has launched yet another value for money smartphone called as UMi Rome priced at $89. The company claims that the new device comes with the best specifications that that we have seen on a phone under $100.

Regarding specs, the UMi Rome comes with a 5.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display offering a pixel density of 267ppi. It comes powered by MediaTek MT6753 64-bit Octa-core processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. Th device has 16GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded upto 64GB using a microSD card slot.

On the photographic section, the smartphone sports a 13MP Sony IMX164 rear camera with dual LED flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter for video calling and perfect selfie images. Interestingly, the front camera is also accompanied by an LED flash and is sure to attract a lot of selfie lovers. It supports dual sim dual standby and includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port.

The handset comes backed by a 2500mAh battery that can last for an entire day on mixed usage and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box. The dimensions of the device measure 153.8 mm x 77 mm x 7.9 mm and weighs around 133.5 grams. The UMi Rome with these specifications and affordable price will be a good competitor for the likes of Cubot X15 and Ulefone Paris among others.
