UMI, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, launched the ‘X1 Pro‘ smartphone last year. The same device is now listed on Amazon India with different camera sensors. As per the Amazon listing, the device runs on outdated Android 4.2 Jellybean.
The UMI X1 Pro feature a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display and powered by a MediaTek MTK6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage and can be further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.
The only difference between the X1 Pro launched in China and the device listing on Amazon is the camera sensors, It has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash while in China it has only a 5MP sensor. On the front, there is a 2MP sensor instead of the 0.3MP on the Chinese variant. The battery on this device is of 2,100mAh capacity.
The device measures 138 x 68 x 9 mm and weighs 159 grams. There is no 4G LTE on this device and offers other basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, and microUSB. The pricing and availability of the device are not mentioned. It is worthy to note that this device will not be launched officially by the company, we don’t expect it to come with warranty service.
The only device from UMI that we have got out hands-on is the UMI Hammer. Unlike the X1 Pro, it got some decent specs for the prices it offered. At sub $200 price range, it has an Aluminium frame around the device with dual Gorilla Glass 3 layers. Even UMI dubbed the device as the world’s toughest smartphone.
