Social networking and social connect now has become an essential requirement to stay in touch with your friends, family and colleagues. You can imagine a day by missing a thing or other but for most of the people you can’t imagine life without Facebook and Twitter.
The tablet that you have are the best device other than cell phones to be connected with your friends wherever you go. Just when you are free, remove your tab and stay updated with your profile on the famous social networking sites. The Social hub is the fastest way to chat. The fastness comes because its uses push technology. What it does it aggregates all you contacts, messages, photos from different social network and provides one point communication access.
The Honeycomb tablet powered by Google Android has changed the way we sync, update or connect with social network. We already wrote on video chat on your Galaxy Tab tablet and way to sync files on your tablet. In this tutorial we would cover the options of how to set up and navigate Social hub i.e., on how to add Twitter and Facebook account. This procedure is applicable for all the tablets running on Android Honeycomb OS.
Social Hub – Add Facebook Twitter Account & Update Status
Here is the procedure on how to manage social hub, navigate from one social account to another in easy ways. Once you finish this tutorial you would be mastering the art of faster social network update on your tablet.
- To get started you need to tap on Apps from the home screen of your tablet (here in example I have Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1).
- Now you would find the option of Social Hub, tap on it.
- If you didn’t have set up your account for sync, click on ‘Add account‘.
- In the next step you need to choose the account which you would like to add and touch next to continue. (I have chosen Facebook).
- Now provide the correct login credentials (your email and password) and touch login when you are done.
- Now choose your sync settings and tap on Done when completed. With these settings you would have the options of Sync Contacts, Sync Messages and Sync Calender (for Facebook).
- Now you would be taken to your social hub home screen. It would be synced with your logins and within no time it would be ready for use.
- At the top of the screen you can read feeds or messages from various social network accounts.
- Now to add a new account such as LinkedIn or Twitter, touch the Menu icon located on the top right corner, then touch ‘Account‘ and select ‘Add account‘.
- Choose the account which you would like to add and click on Next to continue with the setup process.
- Once back at the homepage of the social hub, you would see feeds from Twitter and Facebook displayed.
- Now to add a status message or wall post in Facebook or tweet you need to click on the Compose icon located on the top navigation bar.
- Now type in what you want to update your profile with and then unselect or select the social network to which you want to sent the status update. You also have options of uploading the photos, thanks to Twitter that it now supports photo hosting.
- When you are done click on ‘Update‘ to finish the process.
- You can also use social hub as widget on your tablet.
Social hub also gives you easy way to access from your home screen, i.e., you need to place it as widget on your tablet. If it not on your home screen then touch any empty area on your tablet and in the widget tablet scroll over to social hub and add it to the homescreen with simple drag and drop.
