How to Update Ainovo Novo 7 Basic Tablet to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.1

Procedure to Update Ainol Novo 7 Basic from Android 4.0 to 4.0.1

      • Download the Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich pack. The file is a compressed zip file and the size of it is around 190 mb. You will be downloading this to your computer and then using the USB connectivity you will transfer it to the root of your SD card.
      • Once that is done you need to update file as to update.zip.
      • Now to update your phone, you need to enter your phone in downloading mode. To enter into download mode first you need to power of your tablet in the normal way you do it.
      • Once the phone is powered off, you need to continuously press down the Volume up button located on the sidebar and then press the Power button simultaneously for a few seconds until you see a man logo. That will confirm that you have entered into download mode.
      • Once you are onto download mode, release off your finger from the power button and the volume button and don’t press any key until 5 seconds. The tablet will be automatically entered into automatic update process and it will take the update.zip file automatically from the root of your SD card. It will take around 5 minutes to finish the automatic upgrading and the tablet will be rebooted automatically once the process is done.
      • If you have pressed any key mistakenly then also no problem as you have entered into manual upgrading mode. So we will no proceed with the manual update. Don’t follow this for those who have completed the updating process in the above step, then can simply skip this step. Press the home key and upgrade menu will appear before you. From the various options listed you need to tap on apply update from external storage and then click on OK.
      • Navigate to root of your SD card and select update.zip. Once you do that the process of update will start.
      • Once that is done, from the options select reboot your system now.
      • With that you have completed updating your Novo 7 Basic tablet to Android 4.0.1 firmware. To verify you need to go to Settings from Menu and then tap on About Tablet, check the version under Android version.
