Asus Transformer TF700 tablet can now be updated with the latest Jellybean 4.2.1 firmware update, though this update is not yet officially released, but this can be updated with the custom ROM firmware which is developed by the recognized XDA developer hiemanshu. Unfortunately there is no ETA on by when there will be an Official update of Jellybean 4.1.2. Over a period of this tutorial we will be checking out on what are the list of things which work along with the screen captures on how this custom ROM firmware looks like with the help of screen captures. This firmware is brought to you by the Cyanogen mod 10 firmware and since this update is still in the alpha builds, there will be few bugs which will be addressed in the coming days. In the coming days we will be coming up with more updates.

Essential Pre Requisites:
- All the data in your device should be backed up with the help of below mentioned steps. With the help of below mentioned steps, you will have to manually backup as custom ROM firmwares are not supported by the PC Suites. Don’t create a backup of data in the ROM Manager app as it may brick the device.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Minimum battery life should not be less than 40% so as to make sure that device doesn’t get turned off in the middle of firmware update. Also, you need to ensure that the USB Debugging Mode is enabled in your device. Disable all the antivirus suites in your device and computer.
- Additionally, ensure that your device has active USB ports which have complete read / write access. Install all the Drivers for Asus Transformer TF300T device in your computer. Also, you will have to make sure that the device is rooted and to check the same you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the PLAY Store.
