How to Update AT&T Galaxy Note i717 with ICS Cyanogen Mod 9 Firmware

Procedure to Update Cyanogen 9 Firmware in AT&T Galaxy Note:

  • Download the Cyanogen mod 9 firmware Package & Google Apps in your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the downloaded zip file in your Galaxy Note.
  • Once the file is transferred, disconnect the device and turn Off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Galaxy Note N7000 can be entered in the recovery mode by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now, a Warning message will be shown when you need to press the Volume Down key to continue entering the Recovery Mode.
  • In recovery mode, choose all you need to select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the data or else there is a possibility that it may corrupt the existing data which may lead to the force close errors.
  • Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the “Cyanogen mod 9 firmware package” and then the “Google Apps Package”. It will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update packages. Please note that it may even take up to 10 minutes in some cases.

Note: Just in case if the device doesn’t boot up or say gets into the boot loop sequence, then reinsert the battery or long press the power button to turn off and re follow the instructions from start.
