Procedure to Update Galaxy Note i717 with ICS Android 4.0.4 Firmware:
- Download UCLF6 ICS 4.0.4 Package for Galaxy Note i717 device from here to your computer. Once its downloaded, you now need to extract the same to get the file I717UCLF6_I717ATTLF6_I717UCLF6_HOME.tar.md5.
- Now, download Odin for Galaxy Note and extract the same in your computer. Open the Odin and turn off your Galaxy Note so that it can be then entered in the Download Mode.
- Download Mode in Galaxy Note i717 can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now, a Warning message will be shown when you need to press the Volume Up key to continue entering the Download Mode.
- Connect your Galaxy Note i717 to computer with original USB cable while keeping Odin opened. After connecting, the ID : COM block in odin will turn Yellow which will suggest that all the drivers have been successfully installed.
- Click on “PDA” tab in Odin and select the extracted “I717UCLF6_I717ATTLF6_I717UCLF6_HOME.tar.md5” file. Once it’s selected, you now need to click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update.
- It will take around 4 – 5 minutes for applying the update. Once the update is applied successfully, you now need to disconnect the device and turn off your Galaxy Note so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode.
- Recovery mode in Galaxy Note can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now, a Warning message will be shown when you need to press the Volume Down key to continue entering the Recovery Mode.
- In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys.
- To check on whether the firmware has been successfully applied or not, you can check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where it will show as ICS 4.0.4 firmware version. If there is any other version then you need to follow the instructions to update the same.
Note: If your Galaxy Note gets stuck on “Samsung” logo, then you need to long press the power button to turn Off and then start the process from the start.
