Are you still using 2G or worried that you might end up using all the data before its validity period? Or just waiting for the Chrome browser to get better to watch Video contents smoothly or end up finding your battery gets often drained while watching videos? Then you don’t have to wait any longer. Google’s next version of Chrome Browser v52 is on its way to solving all these issues. Google has made some important tweaks which will load faster while playing videos and consume less battery and data. It will have the “Data Saver Mode” option which will let you choose to play a lower resolution video saving up to 50% of data. With this, it is apparent to expect the battery to lasts longer. Google claims further to improve video playback for speed and power efficiency in its future updates also as other browser companies are working on these areas like Opera.
Google Chrome, being one of the most used Internet browsers with a user base of One billion users as per the download counts on play store with two other Beta and Dev versions, billions of videos being played by users every week on YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, Vine to name a few. Considering this data, this was a long due from Google as Chrome is considered to be the most data consuming browser on both Mobile and Desktop Platforms. So I would say this is a major update from Google. As the update is not yet available (just checked as I write this), You can certainly try out the Beta version of Chrome and see how this works and if it is up to the mark as Google claims. You can always uninstall the Beta version and wait for the stable version. So go ahead give it a try and share your experience here.
As per the reports, Google will be updating its desktop versions as well to fix the same issues. And according to a spokesperson for Google, it will be at level with other browsers by the version 53. By this statement, Google clearly admits that Chrome lacked these important features, and it was a long due. The version 53 is also coming with an interesting feature. Stay tuned for this.
