Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 LTE SC 03 D with DOMKK3 Gingerbread 2.3.6:
- Before proceeding, download the Gingerbread 2.3.6 package in your computer followed by which you need to extract the same. In the process of extraction, you will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas as shown in the below screen capture.
- After this you need to match the extracted files from the below mentioned screen capture. Just in case if the contents get mismatched, you need to check with the file extraction or download. The total Size of Zipped File should be (MB).
- Up next, from the extracted files, open the odin executable file in your computer and turn off the phone so that you can then enter your phone into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Refer below video for more on how to get into download mode.
- Connect the phone with the computer using the original USB cable while keeping Odin opened in your computer Once you connect the phone, the ID : COM section in Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully updated and you are now ready to proceed to next step.
DANGER: Don’t proceed to the next step if the ID : COM Section doesn’t turn Yellow!
- Click on “PDA” tab and choose the file named as “SC03DOMKK3_SC03DDCMKK3_SC03DOMKK3_HOME.tar.md5” which you can select from the extracted files. Once you select the same, click on the “Start” tab to start the process of firmware update. It will take around 5 – 6 minutes to apply this update.
- So as soon as the firmware is updated successfully, the device will be restarted after which you will be prompted to enter the Google Account credentials along with the Language preferences, Wi Fi options etc. Just to check whether the firmware is successfully applied or not, you can check the same from the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as DOMKK3 2.3.6.
Steps for Users facing Issues like Force CLOSE ERRORS:
- Since this firmware is a Non Wipe version, it won’t clear the data and contents on its own and you need to manually clear the same so as to avoid the force close errors.
- Now, turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the below mentioned video to know more on how to enter into the recovery mode. In the recovery mode select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
Note: Just in case if the power goes Off or the process of firmware update is interrupted due to un avoidable reasons, then reinsert the battery, again enter into the download mode to follow the instructions from the start.
