- Now your phone will be in downloading mode, so connect your phone to the PC (or Laptop) using the USB cable. Once the connection is established successfully, the COM Port Mapping block will turn into yellow indicating that all the necessary drivers have been installed in the computer. If it doesn’t turned into the yellow color just check the USB connection and ensure that you connected the USB cable perfectly. In the process of firmware update all the antivirus solutions and the firewalls should be in OFF stage so close all these softwares before proceeding further.
- In the Odin tool, you will find various options so click on the option ‘OPS’ and select the ops file and also choose one package file under one package option as given in the screenshot below.

- After selecting the files as given in the above image, click on the ‘Start’ button in Odin tool to initiate the updating process. This firmware updation process will take few minutes, so don’t interrupt the process in the middle. And if the process is disturbed by any case like power interruption and any failure, then don’t panic and start the process all over again from the beginning.
- Once the firmware updation process is completed then your phone restarts automatically indicating that the process of firmware updation has completed successfully. So, now turn OFF your mobile and ON it back again to enter into the recovery mode. To enter into the recovery mode, press T + Power button simultaneously.
- In recovery mode of your phone, you will see various options so choose the options like wipe data/factory reset and Wipe Cache partition. The reason behind deleting all the cache files is that, in the process of firmware update, some of the cache files will generates in your phone in order to damage some applications of your phone. So, to avoid any such damage on your phone we need to clean up all the cache files from the phone. After clearing all the cache files form the phone, reboot it now using the option ‘reboot system now’, and enter the language preferences and the Google account preferences again so that you can bring back your phone into the normal mode.
