Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 smartphone can now be installed with the latest version of Cyanogen mod 7.2 custom ROM firmware which is further optimized for best performance and best user interface. Please be informed that this is not an Official firmware version released by Samsung Electronics and unfortunately there won’t be any other higher Official firmware updates like ICS 4.0 or Jellybean 4.1 firmware updates. All thanks to the users who have come across this custom ROM firmware and reported to us, also we are thankful to the XDA recognized developer masterex567 who has come across this firmware. The name of the firmware is Droid ACE and ropes in the latest Cyanogen Mod 7.2 firmware.
Update (16/10/2012): There is an all new release which has now been rolled out by DROID ACE Team of which we have mentioned the change log below. This new version is dubbed as v2.1.

To check on whether your Galaxy ACE is rooted or not, you need to check the same from the app called “Root Checker” which can be downloaded from Google PLAY Store. If your device is not rooted then you can update your ACE with DDKQ8 and then root the same by using the below mentioned steps,

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log –Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
Minimum of 60% battery should be there in your phone so as to make sure that it doesn’t turn Off in the middle of rooting update. Enable the USB Debugging in your Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked.
