Procedure to Update Galaxy ADVANCE I9070 with XXLE2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware:
- Download the XXLE2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you need to extract the firmware package and open the Odin in your computer.
- Download mode in your Galaxy ADVANCE can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.
- Now, connect your phone to the computer and open the Odin in your and then ensure that the ID : COM section is turned yellow.
Note: If the ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
- Install the USB Drivers in your computer & Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and
- Ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
- In Odin click on “PDA” to select the PDA file which you got after extracting the file and then click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. As soon as the update is applied successfully, the device will be rebooted on its own.
- To check on the firmware has successfully applied or not, you can check the same from the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as XXLE2 2.3.6 Firmware.
- If you face any issues like force close error, then you need to clear and wipe the data from the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys. Once it’s done, you then will have to select the option of “reboot system now” for restarting the device.
Tip: Due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
