Procedure to Update Slim ROM ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware in your Samsung Galaxy S:
- Download the Slim ROM Package from here to your computer. Once you download the same, with the help of original USB cable, connect the device with the computer and place this zip file in your phone. Ensure that you are not placing the file in any of the sub folders.
- Now, remove the connected USB Cable and turn Off the phone so that you can then enter the device in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by “Pressing Volume Up key+ Menu Key + Power ON the device”. Once you enter into the recovery mode, you need to select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache which is there in your device.
- Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” > SLIM ROM ICS Firmware Zip Package and once selected you will see that the device will be updated within 15 minutes.
- As soon as the firmware is updated, either the phone will be restarted or will land up in the recovery mode screen. If you see the recovery mode screen, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “Reboot system now” by pressing the Power button.
- Once you see the home screen, turn Off the same and re insert the battery. Now boot your device in the recovery mode again. In recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache after which select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will restart the Galaxy S.
