Samsung Galaxy S II Wimax ISW11SC is another variant of Galaxy S II mobile phone available in Japan by KDDI network provider. Galaxy S II WiMAX ISW11SC version was rushed for the launch in Japan as it this phone supported the WiMAX connections but many users have reported various bugs mostly related to network with Galaxy S II variant phone. Along with that users of Optimus X IS11LG also reported the same issues.

Pre Upgrade Instructions
Follow the below pre upgrade instructions –
- Before you proceed with the firmware update to your Galaxy S II WiMAX ISW11SC mobile phone you should make sure that you have gone through the pre upgrade requirements.
- Please make sure that you have charged your phone fully charged as to don’t land yourself in case there is batter low or lack of battery power in the middle of the firmware update.

Galaxy S II WiMAX ISW11SC Android 2.3 Update
You can proceed with the firmware update to Android 2.3 by following methods –
- Update via Wi Fi
- Update via WiMax/3G/PC
Update via Wi Fi
Updating software via Wi Fi is the most suggest method as this will complete your task within 5 minutes of time and willn’t cost you any additional cost. To update via this method you need to have an Wi Fi signal accessed on your phone, once ready follow the below procedure –
- From your mobile phone go to Settings > About Phone and then select the option of Software Update.
- Tap on check for update and it will check whether update is available for you or not. If its available click on download button to proceed via OTA download of the files required for the update and it will be downloaded in a maximum of five minutes as it’s accessed via Wi Fi. You need to agree the terms and conditions.
- Once the files are downloaded now you are ready to install the updates. Click in Install in the next step.
- You phone would be restarted automatically and it will be installing the update.
- Once the files are loaded, your phone would get restarted again and once that is done you would be able to use the new firmware on your phone.
Update via WiMAX/3G/PC
If you are using your WiMAX or 3G network access from your mobile phone it will take 20 minutes approximately. Moreover you will be charged accordingly to your data plans.
The process via WiMAX and 3G is as that of the above update via Wi Fi. The only difference is you would be using your data plans and incurred cost accordingly.
To download the software update via PC using the Samsung KIES follow the below steps –
- You should make sure that Samsung KIES is installed on your computer. Open the program if its installed.
- Now connect your phone using the USB cable one end to phone and other end to the PC.
- As soon as you connect your phone to the PC, you will get the notification that the updates are available to you just need to click on Install button.
- The update will be downloaded to your phone and it will automatically do the rest.
