Procedure to Update Nexus GSM with ICS 4.0.4 Firmware Version:
- Assuming that from the Pre requisites you have downloaded the ICS 4.0.4 Package & Clock Work Mod Recovery Package in your computer, connect your phone and place the same in your phone.
- Now, copy the Clock Work Mod recovery file in the same folder as that of the fastboot in your computer in the SDK Folder (either in /tools or /platform-tools) and then rename the image file as “cwm.img”.
- Now up next you need to turn off your device so that it can then be entered in the Boot loader Mode. The boot loader mode in the device can be entered by holding the Volume Up & Volume Down button, press the Power button.
- Connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then open the command prompt or terminal in your computer. Navigate to the folder and select the cwm.img file which you have placed in your device.
- Now in the command line, enter the command as “fastboot-windows.exe boot cwm.img” or even “fastboot.exe”.
- With the help of the Clock Work Mod recovery menu, you need to flash the zip file which you have placed in your phone’s SD Card. After this, you will have to choose the OTA 4.0.4 Zip file which you have placed in your device.
- Once the process is over, the device will be restarted on its own and then remove the connected USB cable to enjoy the update.
Tip: Just in case if due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
